So here is what I did...
We moved into our new place we knew we were going to need to paint some rooms. We moved in July and I am just now actually making things happen. One room at a time. I started with the master bath. Luckily our wonderful landlords left some paint so we didn't have to buy any for this project. If you have to buy paint your looking at the $50.00 side of this make over.
1. Putty, sand and paint- we did a bright white clean, simply and bright.
2. I made the shower curtain- I went to JoAnn Fabric and they have a really great line called "Quilters showcase" and its 4.99 a yard. They have great prints and colors they coordinate with each other. With a coupons you can get it for pretty low cost. You can buy a curtain of course but if your like me you might want some thing that is different than someone else and fits your style. I made two curtains so they open to both sides rather than one. Our bathroom shower doesn't need a curtain but it's a great way to add color without having to paint.
3. I bought a bath mat to match
4. Bought a coat hook for the hand towel
5. Finally I used things I already had in the bathroom to finish- candle holder, towel rack, basket for top of toliet.
Cost Break Down
Paint- Free
Shower curtain- 10.00 (may be closer to 15.00 depending on coupons)
Hand towel- 2.97
Hook- 1.97
Rug- 9.97
Total- under 25.00
Small changes have made a huge difference and I love it!! You can do the same thing to add a little something to your bathroom or another room in your house that needs a little love.
